I'm recruiting for a Construction Attorney search with a well-regarded, mid-sized education law firm with a statewide California practice..
The firm represents school and community college districts across the state, and their Business, Property & Construction Law Practice Group is growing. They're looking for someone to step in and own meaningful, complex work, not just grind through tasks.
The firm:
• Statewide presence with offices in SF, Long Beach, San Diego, Sacramento, East Bay, and Fresno (hybrid flexibility)
• A collaborative, team-oriented culture where attorneys are trusted to work independently and make a real impact
• A niche practice with depth — representing public entities on sophisticated construction and procurement matters
The work:
• Public procurement, contract negotiation, and drafting across a broad range of construction and professional services agreements
• Handling bid protests, stop payment notices, change orders, delay/cost overrun claims, and payment disputes
• Opportunity to touch litigation matters alongside transactional and counseling work
• A true generalist construction law role — variety is the norm, not the exception
Comp: $140,000–$185,000 DOE + comprehensive benefits including 401(k) with match & profit-sharing
Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of experience with public procurement and construction contracts, though the firm values initiative and a willingness to grow into new areas.
